Real Estate headlined the second night of our festival last summer. Before they took the stage, we sat down with Alex and Martin, two of the band’s founding members, to talk everything from how they pick album art to how ‘Citypop’, (Japanese Boogie/Disco) might influence their next album.
Speaking of their new record, the band recently announced that their fifth album, “The Main Thing” drops Feb. 28, 2020. The Main Thing is the band’s first release since 2017’s In Mind. The first single, “Paper Cup” is out now.
Based in Brooklyn, Real Estate currently consists of Martin Courtney, Alex Bleeker, Matt Kallman, Jackson Pollis, Julian Lynch.
