Origin of Darkness 2023: Embrace the Darkness
From the shadows, it emerges... Origin of Darkness, our annual, limited-release, Imperial Stout collab series returns! This year, we partnered with our friends over at Southern Grist Brewing for a little taste of that southern hospitality. We brewed two unique stouts to continue the legacy of our Origin of Darkness series. Explore this year's brews below.
Maple Syrup Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Vanilla
Rich. Balanced. Delightfully Dark. This isn't just a beer — it's an experience. We partnered with Nashville's Southern Grist Brewing to create a barrel-aged imperial stout engulfed in darkness. Aged to perfection in our maple syrup rum barrels, this stout boasts velvety dark chocolate flavours with roasted coffee and hints of toffee that we've harmoniously balanced with the sweet and subtle touches of maple syrup, vanilla and aged rum. Explore the origins of darkness with this delectable dark brew.

Imperial Stout with Maple Syrup, Pistachio, Vanilla & Lactose
Taking advantage of our shared interest in decadent mascarpone desserts, we partnered with Nashville's Southern Grist to create this rich and luscious pastry stout. We included an irresistible flavour combination of rich maple syrup and nutty pistachios and topped it off with the creamy sweetness of both vanilla and lactose. Explore the origins of darkness with this delectable dark brew.

In Collaboration with Southern Grist Brewing

Their beer is small-batch and experimental, and as a result it's usually not around for very long. They use ingredients that aren’t always Reinheitsgebot-approved but that’s okay. They like it that way. We think you will too.
