Series Artist: David Oku
London, England
I was born in Dortmund Germany, but lived in the vibrant streets of Lagos, to the baroque setting of Milan, and finally settling in the business capital of the world "London". My addiction to illustration has been with me as early as I can remember, my mom always said that she would find me wondering around empty rooms many times, describing me as a very curious kid, always wanting to touch everything and very creative as I always surprised her with some scribble on everything I could put my hands on. I started noticing my true potential for art when I started high school. I could literally draw anything from head, I started winning school competitions, and even worked for my professor’s business. At the beginning, I was always trying to find out what I would do with my life and passion for illustration, but at the time, technology was not so developed. As an artist, I learned what I could and was becoming a book illustrator, but I wanted more. I wanted to explore Graphic design and started learning Photoshop, illustrator and after effects, myself, by using any online tutorials I could find. The result was outstanding and definitely had an impact on my career; I started seeing fruits from my hard work.
