1% for creativity
A creative world is a better world. That's why Collective Arts commits 1% of its revenue to fostering Creativity and supporting emerging artists worldwide.
Our goal is clear: to dedicate our brand and platform to helping bring more Creativity to the world and be transparent about how we're using the 1% to help foster and grow Creativity.
The following breakdown outlines our projected proceeds for 2024 and what initiatives will be funded by the 1% For Creativity initiative.

2024 INITIATIVES
We're bringing Creativity on Tour to select locations in Ontario. An ever-evolving Collective Arts experience featuring a bottleshop, beergarden and marketplace. The experience will also contain an art gallery, host art activations, sampling opportunities and more.
The 1% will go towards the cost of our trailer, staffing, murals, art gallery exhibit(s), local artist market(s), artist fees and more.
Everything we produce at Collective Arts is a canvas for Creativity. Across all Collective Arts products, experiences and branded collateral (packaging, merchandise, live art murals, postcards, advertising), we feature artists and pay for their Creativity to be featured.
HOW IT WORKS
- Artists submit existing works of art to our Call For Art
- Every artist chosen will be personally contacted to discuss licensing of their artworks and is paid $500USD
- Chosen artists will be featured through a profile on our website, social media and through ongoing marketing initiatives
- Any usage of the artists’ work (appearing on merchandise, glassware, etc) will be paid an additional $250USD
- Live Art and Murals are commissioned based works that start at $1000USD and to be negotiated with the artist
- Spirit bottles and high volume products require custom commissioned work starting at $1500USD
We do our best to represent our artists' work on our cans. Our brand is constantly evolving, featuring new works of art. To do this, we must work collaboratively with our printing partners to continuously change printing plates and proof artwork with samples and pilot cans.
In order to support the artists we work with, we have dedicated staff who solely work to ensure Creativity is represented throughout the Collective Arts brand. Between our Artist Relations role and our Programming & Events Coordinator, they are responsible for all things art and music in our packaging, merchandise, and on-site experiences at all of our owned spaces.
Our owned spaces in Hamilton and Toronto, as well as our rotating pop-ups throughout Ontario (Ottawa's Byward Market), feature programming that showcases music performances, art/beverage/music festivals, comedy shows, and artist workshops. The 1% helps to provide promotion and payments for all creative acts.
Across Collective Arts digital properties (website, blog, social), we aim to showcase and feature artists through storytelling properties such as our Drink Creatively video series, brand ambassador program, and resident artist program. The 1% helps ensure artists are paid to be featured and purchase materials for any live art conducted. In return, we use our reach to help amplify and bolster the artist's profile to the masses.
